Applique quilt - work in progress

I'm having a love affair with Heat N Bond (or however they spell it).  We've been spending a lot of time together recently and I reckon we'll be spending even more time together in the future.

Look at all the Liberty loveliness!  The petal-y perfection!  I don't know about you, but I think a wee tease of a snippet of the fabric is just as glorious, and in some cases showcases the fabric to it's best advantage.

These applique blocks are waiting to be satin-stitched and will, eventually, be part of a bed quilt for my parents.

I designed the placement template using a compass and pencil, then spent many a happy hour cutting out the petals in front of the TV.

Oops - not many left!  I need more Heat N Bond.

Linking up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.

  1. This is so spring like and lovely. Great choice of fabrics for it too! By the way, I hope you don't mind me suggesting, but it would be really great if you had the name/url option turned on for commenting. I have a self-hosted blog and at the moment, teh only way I can comment is logged in as my old Blogger account. :-) http://www.maybushstudio.com

    1. Hi Clare - thank you for letting me know! I've had a fiddle with my settings and I think (*crosses fingers*) I've found the way to make it so anyone can comment. I'd be grateful if you could let me know if I've fixed the problem? I'm afraid I'm less than tech-savvy and keep pressing buttons in the hopes of improving things :)

  2. These are stunning, are you just making blocks of these for the quilt or other blocks too?

    1. Thank you :)! In all honesty I'm not sure yet. I'm an impatient sort and am still designing as I go.
